Want More?

Sure we all want to get ahead in life, but where would America be without volunteers? From a blood drive in a small town, to projects like giant stops on a PGA tour, Jaycees are volunteering. Members also participate in personal training seminars that would cost hundreds of dollars if you had to pay.

• What is the purpose?
To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change in their communities. The United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) gives young people between the ages of 18 and 40 the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections. Volunteerism has drastically diminished over the past decade and there is no time more than now that it's needed. Young adults are the lifeblood of our communities and the more we do for ourselves, the less others need to do for us. These are OUR communities and we have the power, strength and desire to make them better each day.

• How much time do I have to commit?
Dedicate as much time and effort as you want. Of course, your return on investment will depend greatly on what you want out of your membership and how much time you put into it.

• How much does it cost to join?
The Pennsylvania Jaycees have just embarked on a test pilot opportunity with the U.S. Jaycees where each chapter pays a flat fee instead of paying per member. In anticipation of this change, the Littlestown Jaycees no longer charge membership fees, but encourage donations from members for parties, socials and upkeep of the chapter house.

•Is there more than my chapter?
When you become a member, you're automatically eligible to reap the benefits of belonging to the Littlestown Jaycees, the Pennsylvania Jaycees,
the United States Jaycees and the International Jaycees.

• After I join, then what?
It depends on you. After you join, all that remains is for you to involve yourself in whatever areas stimulate your interest. If there is something that interests you that the Littlestown Jaycees don't do, then we want you to propose a project. The Littlestown Jaycees as well as the Pennsylvania Jaycees are continuously improving their programming to better fulfill the needs of the community and the interests of you and our members.
